SOFIA - Participating in an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Sofia, Bulgaria, Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul met his Greek counterpart Theodora Bakoyianni today.
The two ministers discussed mutual steps to be taken against floods around the Turkish-Greek border and the development of economic relations between Turkey and Greece.
Gul told that the investment made by a Greek bank in Turkey has made the Turkish government happy.
Abdullah Gul referred to his meeting with Bakoyianni as very helpful.
Gul said that the prime ministers of both countries will meet in Thessaloniki. ''Both sides have a willingness to develop economic ties. We are happy about the progress we are making with Greece,'' noted Gul.
Minister Bakoyianni stressed that her meeting with Gul was very fruitful. ''The development of relations will bring our peoples closer,'' commented Bakoyianni.
