-210 BARRELS & 400 SACKS OF GRANULE MATERIALS FOUND SO FAR

ISTANBUL - ''We have found 210 barrels and 400 sacks of granule material in Tuzla so far,'' said Istanbul Environment & Forestry Director Mehmet Emin Birpinar on Tuesday.
Toxic waste barrels were found buried under soil in a field in Orhanli hamlet of Tuzla town in Istanbul last week, and experts have started to examine the region.
Birpinar told A.A, ''we have unearthed 210 barrels and 400 sacks in the region. Half of the barrels are empty. We are sending all of them to Izmit Waste Refinement Cremation and Evaluation Inc. Co. (IZAYDAS), except some barrels having dangerous contents.''
