ANKARA - ''Statements of Hamas which support terrorists attacks are not be helpful to the political process,'' said Namik Tan, spokesman of Turkish Foreign Ministry.
In a weekly news conference, Tan said, ''Turkey's view about Hamas is obvious. Hamas, in line with expectations of international community, must take steps to make substantial contribution to political process.''
''Among these steps, avoiding terrorist assaults has a top priority,'' added Tan.
Over yesterday's suicide attack in Tel Aviv (that killed at least 9 and wounded more than 40 people including two Turkish citizens), Hamas stated that the attack was a self-defense against Israeli operations in Gaza Strip and West Bank.
