ANKARA - Rauf Gonenc was assigned as Turkey Desk Chief of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), sources said.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that a Turkish person was assigned as Turkey Desk Chief of the organization for the first time.
Rauf Gonenc who has been working in the OECD for a long time specialized in structural reforms and competition power.
Gonenc who had studied international economy and finance at Paris University also carried out many economic researches.
Alexandra Iwanchuk Bibbee has served as Turkey Desk Chief for a long time.
Officials said that this new assignment was a reflection of confidence in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Andrew Vorkink who studied in Turkey and who speaks Turkish was appointed as the new Turkey director of the World Bank.
