ANKARA - Turkey took over the presidency of the Political-Military Steering Committee (PMSC) of Southeast European Multinational Peace Keeping Force for two years.
General Staff's Press Information Center noted on Saturday that Turkey took over the presidencies of the Political-Military Steering Committee (PMSC) and Coordination Committee of the Southeast Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM-CC) for two years at ceremonies which took place in Constanta city of Romania on Friday.
The statement said that member and observer countries' defense ministers and representatives of general staff attended the ceremonies and noted that a delegation headed by General Staff Military History and Strategic Research Chairman Ismail Ozalp participated in ceremonies on behalf of Chief of General Staff Gen. Hilmi Ozkok.
Foreign Ministry high-official Ugur Ergun, who was assigned as chairman of PMSC and SEDM-CC, delivered a speech at ceremony and emphasized on the contribution of Southeast European Multinational Peace Keeping Force and SEDM to security and stability of Southeast Europe region.
Ergun added that Turkish secretariat would exert maximum efforts to further increase activity of those committees during its term presidency.
