DIYARBAKIR - ''European Union (EU) Youth Programme Regional Information'' meeting was held in southeastern Diyarbakýr province on Saturday.
Addressing the opening of the meeting, action plan expert of the youth programme Ali Yurtsever said that they were on preliminary stage of the youth programme and that they held nine information meetings in various parts of Turkey within five months to date.
Noting that Turkey acquired the right to benefit from EU programmes by becoming a candidate of the EU in 1999, Yurtsever said that they showed the way to young persons aging between 15-25 to prepare and carry out Europe-wide youth projects.
Yurtsever stated that they gave information to young students about the methods of preparing projects and applying to the EU organs, adding that ''we show them the way of finding fund for their projects. Our information meetings will continue, next year we will evaluate the projects prepared by young persons. The young persons can find support to their projects from Europe by our efforts.''
