ANKARA - Places where there are many important historical and cultural works of art or places which have a high tourism potential can be announced as ''cultural and tourism development regions'' by the cabinet decision.
The bill which brought amendments to Tourism Encouragement Law to ensure planned development in tourism, was adopted by the parliament on Thursday night.
According to the law, places where there are many important historical and cultural works of art or places which have a high tourism potential can be announced as ''cultural and tourism development regions'' by the cabinet decision.
The law authorizes Culture and Tourism Ministry to decide on allocation of immovable properties in those ''cultural and tourism development regions'' to Turkish and foreign investors and it eases the allocation of those immovable properties.
Places which were declared as tourism regions before the new law's going into force will remain so, but they will also be subject to the provisions of the new law.
