ANKARA - The General Staff said on Friday that press reports about transfer of Turkish soldiers ''who had been attacked in Sulaimania'' to court on charges of neglecting their mission were ''wrong and baseless''.
Releasing a statement early on Friday, the General Staff Secretariat General said, ''in several mass media organs, there were news about transfer of Turkish soldiers who were attacked in Sulaimania on July 4, 2003 to court on charges of neglecting their mission. Such news are wrong and baseless, and it is considered that such news were the outcome of a specific purpose.''
