LOS ANGELES - "Ocean`s Thirteen" just got some added depth with the addition of Al Pacino to the star-studded cast, Daily Variety reported Tuesday.
In the third installment of the caper films about charming rogue Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney), Pacino -- who turned 66 on Tuesday -- will join the eminent ensemble alongside Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia and Don Cheadle.
The veteran actor, who has been nominated for eight Oscars and who took home the best actor statuette in 1992 for "Scent of a Woman," last appeared in the 2005 film "Two for the Money," with Matthew McConaughey.
Like the two earlier installments in the series, 2001`s "Ocean`s Eleven" and 2004`s "Ocean`s Twelve," the movie -- which is due to start filming on July 21 -- will be directed by Steven Soderbergh, the Oscar-winning director of "Traffic," according to Daily Variety.
Clooney, who won best supporting actor honors at this year`s Oscars ceremony for "Syriana," will co-produce the Warner Brothers film, slated for release in summer 2007.
A remake of the 1960s hit starring Rat Packers Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior, "Ocean`s Eleven" detailed the exploits of a cunning conman and his equally unscrupulous buddies who steal a fortune from a Las Vegas casino.
