U.S. Soldier Not Allowed To Enter Turkey

ISTANBUL - Richard Randy, a U.S. soldier serving at the NATO, was not allowed to enter Turkey from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as he tried to pass the gate only with his military identity card.
Sources said on Thursday that Randy who arrived in Istanbul from New York, the United States with a Delta Airlines plane, tried to pass the passport check at Ataturk Airport with his military identity card. However, officials told him that he could enter Turkey only with passport or travel document approved by the NATO.
Randy who could not show any other document or identity card was not allowed to enter Turkey.
Speaking to reporters, U.S. soldier Randy said that he was a NATO soldier and he had to go to a military ship at Marmaris port. But, he later returned to the United States with a Delta plane.
