Azerbaijani President Aliyev's Health

AMBASSADOR NEVRUZOGLU: ''HIS CONDITION IS NORMAL. HE FEELS WELL. HE DOES NOT NEED INTENSIVE CARE''

ANKARA - Azerbaijani Ambassador in Ankara Mehmet Nevruzoglu said on Thursday that Azerbaijani President Haydar Aliyev was in good condition and he did not need intensive care.
Holding a press conference, Nevruzoglu gave information about Aliyev's health.
Noting that he had paid a visit to Aliyev the day before, Nevruzoglu said, ''his condition is normal. He feels well. He does not suffer any serious illness. And he does not need intensive care.''
Recalling that Aliyev had undergone a heart by-pass surgery, Nevruzoglu denied the news which claimed that Aliyev was suffering eight different illnesses and treatment cost thirty-four million U.S. dollars.
He said that they did not pay any money for Aliyev's treatment in the hospital under an agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Replying a question, Nevruzoglu said Aliyev's candidacy for president in general elections to be held in October in Azerbaijan had been approved, adding that his doctors would decide on when Aliyev would return to Baku.
