President Denktas Of T.R.N.C. Due To Istanbul

LEFKOSA - President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will leave for Istanbul on Thursday to attend the ceremony to be held at the Istanbul University to mark the 80th anniversary of the Lausanne Treaty.
Releasing a statement, TRNC Presidential Office said on Wednesday that President Denktas would attend the ceremony at the university.
President Denktas is expected to return to TRNC on Friday.
Meanwhile, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, President Denktas, Gulsun Bilgehan, a deputy of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and granddaughter of former President Ismet Inonu who had headed the Turkish delegation in Lausanne, and Istanbul University Rector Prof. Dr. Kemal Alemdaroglu will make the opening remarks.
