ANKARA - Greek Major General Andreas Kouzelis will hand over his mission as the commander of the Southeast European Multinational Peace Keeping Force Brigade to Italian Brigadier General Giovanni in a ceremony to be held at headquarters of the brigade in Romania.
General Staff's Press Information Centre noted on Tuesday that the ceremony would take place on July 25, in the headquarters of the command which was transferred from Plovdiv city of Bulgaria to Konstanta city of Romania.
Meanwhile, the presidency and secretariat of the Political-Military Steering Committee (PMSC) and Coordination Committee of the Southeast Europe Defense Ministerials (SEDM-CC) will be transferred from Romania to Turkey.
Southeast European Multinational Peace Keeping Force Brigade was formed under the leadership of Turkey to contribute to regional security and stability in the Southeast Europe and particularly in the Balkans and to develop good neighborhood relations among regional countries.
The headquarters of the brigade whose command rotates among Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Greece once in every four years, started to work in Plovdiv city of Bulgaria on August 31, 1999. Its command was taken over by Turkey for the first time between 1999-2001.
After four years, the headquarters moved to Konstanta. According to the plan, the headquarters of the command will be deployed in Turkey between 2007-2011.
