ANKARA - The letter of intent prepared by the government regarding the fifth review noted that negotiations continued for getting a donation worth of one billion dollars or a credit worth of 8.5 billion dollars from the U.S.
The letter also stressed that that amount would not be used for financing additional government expenditures.
Economy officials stated that the donation or the credit to be received would be used to decrease the debts of Turkey. In the letter of intent, it was stressed that the target of 6.5 percent of non-interest surplus was still valid.
Meanwhile, economy officials stressed that 2,500 persons among 9,900 persons who were asked to retire voluntarily due to the issue of redundant positions until the end of June, didn't retire, but they are expected to retire within July. Officials said that majority of those workers waited for the end of collective bargaining and that they would retire after the conclusion of the talks.
