SAMSUN - ''It seems that early elections will be held soon,'' said Mehmet Agar, leader of the True Path Party (DYP), on Monday.
Holding a news conference in the northern city of Samsun, Agar indicated, ''the prevailing conditions in Turkey and the government's backstage practices have already shown that early elections could be held. When we take into consideration the deadlock in the foreign policy and determination in fight against terrorism, it seems that early elections will be held soon.''
''There are a series of measures to be taken to overcome (Turkey's) problems. However, the government is unable to take them. Elections are the key to resolve those problems,'' he said.
Upon a question about presidential elections, Agar told reporters, ''first, Turkey should deal with the issue of government. Then, the process of presidential elections will start.''
