Gaziantep to Host Iraq International Fair in June

An international trade fair focused on Iraq is scheduled for 7–11 June in the southeastern Türkiye city of Gaziantep, organizers announced. The event is being coordinated by Iraq's Ministry of Trade, the Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), and Forum Fuarcilik.

More than 1,000 participants from over 30 countries are expected to attend, with invitations extended to businesses across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

State Minister Kursad Tuzmen described Gaziantep as a future hub for commerce with Iraq, saying the fair would give Turkish and international firms a venue to market goods to Iraqi buyers. He noted that Türkiye's exports to Iraq reached 2.7 million USD in 2005 and said the figure is expected to climb further as a result of the event.

Tuzmen added that future meetings would explore bilateral cooperation between Türkiye and Iraq across sectors including agriculture, industry, tourism, energy, construction, health, education, and transportation, all tied to Iraq's broader reconstruction efforts.
