Vorkink: As World Bank, We Will Try To Provide Turkey With All Kinds Of Assistance To Further Improve Its Economy

ANKARA/ZAGREB - Andrew Vorkink, who was appointed as the new Turkey director of the World Bank, said on Saturday that as the World Bank, they would try to provide Turkey with all kinds of assistance to further improve its economy.
Vorkink, who will start his term in office in Turkey in September, told the A.A correspondent that he would come to Turkey in the coming days on a short visit.
Noting that he knew many things about Turkish people since he had been in Turkey in the past, Vorkink stressed that Turkey had a great economic potential.
He described Turkey as a strategic country having a high economic potential in the region.
Vorkink, who has been contributing to European Union (EU) adjustment process of southern and central European countries, said that he would also assist Turkey in its EU membership process.
He emphasized that Turkey had made significant reforms in its EU process.
