ANKARA - The Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MIT) denied news reports claiming that the agency raided offices of two Turkish bureaucrats in Russian capital Moscow.
Releasing a statement on Monday, MIT said that the news reports were totally baseless.
Earlier in the day, Turkish Sabah daily claimed, ''MIT informed the Ministry of Energy that Vahap Alaca and Mehmet Topdas, officials of BOTAS (Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corp.), met Ibrahim Selcuk, the number one suspect of energy case, in Moscow. Upon directions of the Ministry, an investigation has been initiated regarding Alaca and Topdas. These two bureaucrats, who pursue tenders worth of millions of dollars, were shown on mission while they were in Moscow secretly. Alaca and Topdas resigned on April 2nd.''
