ANKARA - ''I think Parliament will adopt important structural reforms for social security today and within next week,'' said Turkish Labor & Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu on Thursday.
Basesgioglu said in a meeting that the Social Security Reform is currently on the agenda of Parliament, adding, ''if Turkey does not adopt this reform, the deficit of national income to gross national product will increase from 5 percent to 10 percent. Thus, the government is determined to adopt this reform.''
''The Social Security Reform will help us to eliminate poverty as well as prevent unregistered economy which will remove norm and standard differences between citizens,'' he added.
Basesgioglu said, ''the real procedures will start after the Parliament will adopt Social Security Reform. The reform will provide a legal basis for us. Then, we will implement the reform across Turkey within three years.''
