ANKARA - ''It is possible that per capita income in Turkey exceeds 10.000-15.000 USD,'' reaffirmed Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks.
In an interview with ''Bulletin of Turkey'', Babacan underlined that 2005 growth figures confirmed that Turkish economy gained a sound and sustainable momentum.
''Turkey has become a global power in economy. This new process has a good impact on employment, income distribution, production and exports,'' he stressed.
Babacan noted that the performance recorded during last three and a half years would largely contribute to the solution of existing problems.
''National income per capita has now exceeded 5.000 USD and there is no reason that it goes beyond 10.000-15.000 USD. Our government will make no concession as regards monetary policies and financial discipline to achieve these objectives. Turkey will keep breaking new records,'' Babacan added.
