ISTANBUL - Environment and Forestry Minister Osman Pepe left for Italy on Friday morning to attend the EU Environment and Energy Ministers unofficial meeting.
Speaking to Ataturk Airport before leaving for Rome, Pepe said that issues of climate change and environment would be discussed in the meeting to be held between 18-20 July.
Noting that he would also have bilateral contacts with environment ministers of other countries mainly Italy and Germany, Pepe said that the meeting would be beneficial for Turkey's adjustment with EU laws.
Stressing that the Ministry could not use sufficiently the funds of EU during the EU adjustment process, Osman Pepe said that he would hold contacts to make Turkey benefit from these funds composed of donation and credits with low interest rates.
Pepe will return to Turkey on July 20.
