ANKARA - Foreign Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz said on Thursday that Turkmens had to be represented at their real level in the Iraqi interim government council like others, adding that their number was not sufficient yet.
Upon a question about the issue in the weekly news conference, Dirioz said that the political process was in its beginning and some other steps would follow that within the scope of political reconstruction.
''We hope that these steps would be taken on a more healthy way from now on. Turkmens had to be represented at their real level. I suppose this will come true in time. The number is not sufficient now,'' Dirioz said.
Upon a question about the claim saying that Mahmut Osman, who was appointed to the interim Iraqi administration was a member of the terrorist organization, Dirioz said that ''we evaluate it, we'll do what is necessary according to the result of our inquires.''
