ZURICH - Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Disciplinary Committee approved punishments of the former Turkish national soccer team assistant coach Mehmet Ozdilek and player Alpay Ozalan.
FIFA Disciplinary Committee approved punishment on Ozdilek which said that he cannot take part in any football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other activity), within associations, confederations or FIFA for 12 months. The committee also ratified the Alpay's suspension of six official matches of his representative team.
Switzerland qualified for next year's World Cup on away goals despite losing the match 4-2 in Istanbul, on November 16th, 2005. After the match, incidents occurred between Turkish and Swiss players.
