ISTANBUL - ''The purchase of 46 percent of shares of Turkish Finansbank by Greek National Bank is a signal that Greece is eager to make larger investments in Turkey in the future,'' said Turkish Industrialists & Businessmen Association (TUSIAD) International Chairman Aldo Kaslowski.
Kaslowski told the AA correspondent that the Greek Bank's purchase of Finansbank shares is an important development and has many positive dimensions. He told that the upcoming investments from Greece will most probably be in other fields and not necessarily be limited to the banking sector.
''The Finansbank transaction will contribute to the development of political relations between Turkey and Greece as well,'' stressed Kaslowski. He added that several Italian banks are also considering to invest in Turkey. ''Italy has declared Turkey a major (trade) partner along with India, Brazil, China and Russia'' Kaslowski indicated.
