ANKARA - Anadolu Agency celebrated its 86th anniversary at A.A Headquarters in Ankara on Thursday.
Speaking at the ceremony, A.A DG and Executive Board President Hilmi Bengi said, ''Anadolu Agency was founded 86 years ago to enlighten people with accurate news reports.''
Bengi noted, ''last year Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated visual journalism system of A.A. Thus, we started to transmit news reports, photographs and broadcasts through satellite.''
''Within this one year, A.A's number of news reports increased 8 percent,'' he added.
Meanwhile, A.A replaced its current editorial software with a new one, which enables A.A reporters and editors to write and run stories from anywhere, not just the A.A HQ and offices.
On the other hand, a photograph exhibition in which photos taken by A.A reporters was opened in the A.A HQ.
