ANKARA - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu said on Tuesday that they would be in search of a way and opportunity to further improve relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Guclu, who received Uzbek Ambassador to Turkey Rustem Isaev, said that agriculture had an important place in relations between Turkey and Turkish Republics.
Uzbekistan was the cultural center of Central Asia, Guclu noted.
Guclu stated that Uzbekistan was one of the countries with highest agricultural potential in the region.
There was an agreement covering agricultural relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan, Guclu said.
Guclu pointed out that there were some projects implemented within the scope of the agreement.
They wanted to review the projects and agreement again and exchange views to contribute to efforts, Guclu said.
Guclu stated that he attached importance to visit of the ambassador, adding that they would be in search for a way or opportunity to further improve relations.
Isaev pointed out that there were many possibilities to achieve great projects in field of agriculture between the two countries.
They could reach very good results if they could provide necessary support from the Turkish Cooperation Agency (TIKA) or Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ministry and Uzbek Agriculture Ministry, Isaev added.
