STRASBOURG - General Assembly of European Parliament (EP) will discuss incidents which happened in southeast of Turkey last week.
European parliamentarians are not expected to vote any recommendatory decision during the session on Thursday.
Nine people died, while 360 others were injured in the illegal demonstrations staged in southeastern city of Diyarbakir between March 28th and 31st. 199 of the 360 injured were police officers. Around 3,000 demonstrators, 80 percent of whom were comprised of children, threw stones and petrol bombs at public institutions during the illegal demonstrations. 566 demonstrators were detained in the incidents.
-KPK MEETING-
On the other hand, Joint Parliamentary Committee (KPK), which is an advisory organ between Turkish parliament and EP, will convene in Strasbourg tonight.
Recent developments about Turkey and the EU will be taken up in the meeting.
