Gonul: Fuel Oil Is Not Sold To U.S. In Facilities Belonging To Armed Forces

ANKARA - National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said on Monday that fuel oil is not sold to U.S. in facilities of Turkish Armed Forces.
Responding to a question motion presented by AK Party deputy Emin Sirin, Gonul said that procedures for receiving, transporting and delivering fuel oil needs of the United States in Turkish Armed Forces facilities were carried out by an agreement between National Defense Ministry and U.S. Europe Defense Energy Support Centre dated October 11, 2001.
Gonul stressed that the fuel oil storing and transportation services which the U.S. provided from the National Defense Ministry was exempt from tax under the Tax Exemption Agreement dated June 23, 1954.
