ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that Turkey should end ideological disputes causing tension and row and have an agenda talking about growth, justice, prosperity, production and development.
Erdogan delivered a speech at the fourth meeting of Prime Ministry Human Rights Consultation Board.
Stating that human rights and freedoms was one of the basic concepts of era, Erdogan said that history of humanity was a history of all nations' fight for human rights.
Noting that the fact that states and communities were direct or indirect intervenors of each other currently with globalization could not be ignored, he said that the government considered that Turkey's improving its esteem among the countries of the world had a direct connection with progress which the country would record in human rights.
Erdogan said that strengthening of tie between citizens and the state in Turkey also had a direct connection with view of the state on human rights and freedoms and noted, ''we think that sine qua non of Turkey's being completely a legal state is to reach universal level in human rights. Turkey should leave behind ideological disputes causing tension and row and should have an agenda talking about growth, justice, prosperity, production and development.''
Prime Minister Erdogan said that they believed that settlement of law and justice depended on citizens' having relation with state, state's listening to demands of citizens and responding to them due to requirement of compromising democracy understandings.
Noting that human rights issue was to protect all indispensable rights of people, he said that's why everybody should attribute importance to this issue.
Erdogan underlined that everybody should consider nongovernmental organizations voice of public conscience and listen carefully to them.
