SILIFKE/VAN - Police arrested 40 illegal migrants and 3 individuals trying to help the migrants in southern city of Mersin's Silifke town today.
The illegal migrants were on their way to southern Cyprus and Greece and paid 5,000 Euro each to three individuals in Turkey.
Meanwhile, in eastern city of Van's Gevas town, gendarmerie forces stopped three automobiles around the Balaban district of Gevas on a routine control.
Gendarmerie forces found out that 17 of the passengers in three cars were citizens of Afghanistan who entered Turkey illegally. The Afghan migrants will be deported following legal procedures.
