ANKARA - A group of persons who are members of Turkish Public Workers Trade Union (Kamu-Sen) protested on Wednesday the IMF delegation which is in Turkey and IMF policies.
The public employees convened in front of the Treasury Undersecretariat in the afternoon and they criticized the economy policy of the government. The employees carried banners in their hands written ''IMF, Take Off Your Hands from Turkey,'' ''No to IMF,'' ''No Use from IMF and World Bank to Turkey'' on them and they shouted various slogans.
Yucel Coskun, an official from Kamu-Sen said that they gathered to criticize IMF and to protest those who support IMF. Coskun stated that the government didn't respond to their demand of meeting for seven months, adding that ''we won't let anybody violate the rights of public workers... We want 15 percent increase in wages for the first six months and 10 months increase for the second six months in addition to 200 million TL of increase to be done for all public workers.''
