ANKARA - Referring to the illegal demonstrations that took place in some Turkish cities this week, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the ''purpose of the terrorists is to destroy Turkey's unitary system of government and the unity of the Republic of Turkey.''
Erdogan delivered the opening remarks at his Justice and Development Party's (AKP) meeting of AKP provincial directors in Ankara today.
Making a call to parents, Erdogan noted that ''it would be too late to cry after their children get involved in terrorist activities. Our security officials will act as necessary against terrorists, whether they are children or women.''
PM Erdogan commented that, although he was in Sudan earlier this week, he was in constant touch with governors all across Turkey. ''Everything is under control in Turkey,'' stated Erdogan.
Erdogan expressed that Turkey knows why some individuals throw stones at security forces and their vehicles. We know exactly why certain groups want to target security forces and we will act accordingly when the right time comes, added Erdogan.
