Cicek: Ministry Of Energy And Natural Resources And Ministry Of Industry And Trade Will Launch A New Initiative About L.P.G. Stations

ANKARA - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said on Sunday, ''the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will launch a new initiative about LPG stations on Monday.''
Referring to yesterday's explosion at a gas station in Ankara, Cicek said, ''the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will launch a new initiative about LPG stations on Monday. The Ministry of Justice will contribute to legal arrangement. We really need such an arrangement. Unfortunately, gasoline stations have been founded in the middle of settlements of high population. Most of them have been posing threat.''
An explosion occurred as a tanker was discharging liquefied petroleum gas at a gas station in Incesu district of Ankara overnight. A total of 189 people were injured in the explosion, seven of them seriously. Sources said that four people were in critical condition. The explosion also caused major damage.
AKDAG: 189 PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN YESTERDAY'S EXPLOSION
Health Minister Recep Akdag said late on Saturday, ''a total of 189 people were injured in the explosion at a gas station in Incesu district of Ankara. Four out of the seven seriously injured people are in critical condition.''
Noting that Ankara had experienced an extremely serious event, Akdag stressed, ''no one died in the explosion. This is our greatest consolation.''
Pointing out that a total of 189 people were injured in the explosion, Akdag told reporters, ''46 of them have been hospitalized. Seven people were injured seriously, and four of them are in critical condition.''
''The injured have been receiving medical treatment at Numune Hospital, Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) and Social Security Agency (SSK) Hospital,'' he added.
