ANKARA - Republican People's Party (CHP) Parliamentary Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Ozyurek said on Saturday about detention of Turkish soldiers by U.S. soldiers in northern Iraq, ''we protest this hostile act of an allied country.''
Releasing a statement, Ozyurek described detention of eleven Turkish soldiers as an extremely serious event.
''We protest this hostile action of an allied country,'' he emphasized.
He added, ''passive and desperate policy of the government since March 1 when the motion was rejected, has encouraged such attempts. We expect our government to launch all necessary initiatives immediately to rescue our soldiers. We will support these initiatives.''
