Sahin: It Is A Very Wrongful Attitude

KARABUK - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said on Saturday that detention of eleven Turkish special team members in northern Iraq was 'very wrong'.
Replying questions of reporters, Sahin said that he was informed that such an event had happened due to baseless tip-off.
''We expect correction of this mistake as soon as possible. I consider detention of Turkish special team members in northern Iraq by U.S. soldiers a quite wrongful attitude. I suppose that it would be solved diplomatically,'' he said.
''Turkey wants peace in its region. And we expect to see a structure in Iraq where democracy, human rights and understanding of supremacy of law prevail. Turkey is not a country that can be ignored in the Middle East and in rebuilding of Iraq and disturbed by such incidents. As the government of the Republic of Turkey, we expect all countries in the region, and particularly the United States to take notice of Turkey's sensitivities and act carefully,'' he added.
