LEFKOSA - Famous Turkish singer Zulfu Livaneli, who also acts as a Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy, and Greek singer Maria Faranduri gave a joint concert in the Greek Cypriot side on Friday night.
Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots watched the concert together at Davilla near Eleftheria Square.
Speaking at the Concert, Livaneli said, ''you came here to listen to songs of peace. You came here to constitute a choir of peace.''
Meanwhile, Faranduri said that they would sign for reunification of Cyprus.
Greek Cypriot Parliament Speaker Dimitris Hristofyas congratulated both Livaneli and Faranduri at the end of the concert.
He said, ''tonight, we sang songs not to separate people, but to unite them.''
