ANKARA - Treasury's cash balance suffered a 2.9 quadrillion Turkish liras (TL) deficit in June.
Releasing a statement on Friday, the Treasury Undersecretariat said that the total revenues on cash basis was 6.6 quadrillion TL, total non-interest expenditures was 6.2 quadrillion TL and non-interest surplus was 0.4 quadrillion TL in June.
After a total of 3.3 quadrillion TL of interest payments, cash deficit was 2.9 quadrillion TL.
The cash deficit was financed by net domestic borrowing while there was nearly 0.4 quadrillion TL change in cash register/bank accounts in June.
Meanwhile, the total revenues on cash basis was 39.4 quadrillion TL in the first half of the year.
In the same period, total non-interest expenditures was 32.8 quadrillion TL and non-interest surplus was 6.6 quadrillion TL.
After a total of 29.2 quadrillion TL of interest payments, cash deficit was 22.6 quadrillion TL in the first six months of the year.
The cash deficit was financed mostly by net borrowing while there was nearly 1.3 quadrillion TL change in cash register/bank accounts in January-June period.
