BERLIN - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin took part in a panel on ``the role of Islam in Europe`` organized by Hanns Seidel Foundation in Munich, Germany.
Aydin noted that the population of Muslims living in Europe would increase more due to globalization, stating that European people did not have sufficient knowledge about the Islam.
He stressed that Turkey, a Muslim country, proved that Islamic values and democracy could exist together.
On the other hand, Bavaria`s Interior Minister Guenther Beckstein eulogized Turkish government`s efforts regarding Turkey`s EU accession process.
