MARRAKECH - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen has said today that the European Union Commission must take steps in the area of diagonal cummulation to establish free trade zones.
Tuzmen delivered a speech at the Fifth European-Mediterranean (EURO-MED) Trade Ministers' Conference in Morocco.
Kursad Tuzmen talked about his perspective on the Barcelona Declaration within which a free trade zone can be established in Europe by 2010 that will make a market of 800 million consumers possible.
Tuzmen indicated that Turkey's priority is to establish a free trade zone in the Mediterranean by 2010.
Minister Tuzmen and his delegation will meet officials from Jordan, Lebanon, Bulgaria, France and the EU Commission today.
Turkish Ambassador in Rabat Akin Algan will host a dinner for Tuzmen and his delegation this evening.
