Sahin: I Don't Suppose That Annulling Of Article Eight Of The Anti-terrorism Law Will Cause A Deficiency Or Weakness In Fight Against Terrorism

ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said on Monday that he did not suppose that annulling of Article 8 of the Anti-Terrorism Law would cause a deficiency or weakness in fight against terrorism.
Sahin replied questions of reporters about the Law no:4903 on 'Amendment to Several Laws' that President Ahmet Necdet Sezer vetoed the same day and envisages annulling of Article 8 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.
Noting that it was the President's ''own discretion'', Sahin said, ''I don't suppose that annulling of article eight of the Anti-Terrorism Law will cause a deficiency or weakness in fight against terrorism.''
Sahin said that both the ruling and opposition parties had same opinion about the issue, and it had been adopted by the parliament with joint decision.
He added, ''I believe that it would be adopted by the parliament without any change and with a joint decision again.''
