ANKARA - The Economic Development Foundation (IKV) plans to organize a series of seminars in twenty-four provinces through financial contribution of the EU Commission and cooperation with Turkey's Secretariat General for the EU (ABGS).
In these seminars called 'Turkey-EU In Pre-Accession Process'', all dimensions of Turkey's EU membership will be explained to all social circles in detail.
Under this, a press briefing was held at the ABGS building on Monday.
Speaking at the briefing, Turkey's Secretary General for the EU Murat Sungar said that the EU issue was a ''serious transformation project'' that concerned whole country and every circle of the society, and social transformation could happen only through social compromise.
Stressing that Turkey's EU membership was a 'national target' that was supported by the majority of Turkish people, Sungar stressed that Turkey had proved its will to unconditionally reach a more modern democracy with the reforms and adjustment works it had made on the EU path so far.
Meanwhile, EU Commission's Representative in Turkey Hans Jorg Kretschmer said that they were pleased with financing the project.
Kretschmer said that the main target of the project was to inform Turkish people on benefits of EU membership and several issues of the EU.
Seminars which will be held in twenty-four provinces will start on July 7 in eastern province of Kars.
