Interior Minister Aksu In Bulgaria

-AKSU VISITS VARNA AND BURGAS

SOFIA - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu and his Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Petkanov on Sunday visited Varna and Burgas cities.
The two ministers visited Neseber township, which is the historical and touristic centers of Bulgaria, between Varna and Burgas.
Aksu said Turkish-Bulgarian relations improved starting as of 1990's, noting that, ''at the point we have reached, our relations are example to other countries.''
Recalling that Turkey and Bulgaria had borders from the land and the sea, Aksu said coastal security issue was extremely important in this respect.
Aksu said coastal security cooperation agreement was signed between the two countries in 2000, noting that an extremely strong cooperation basis was created with this agreement to prevent crimes and smuggling made through sea.
Aksu said the two countries would launch joint workings in sea search and rescue activities, adding that technical delegations continued efforts in this respect.
Bulgarian Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov said they reviewed legal infrastructure of cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries.
Petkanov said they reached a consensus of opinion to update the cooperation agreement signed between the police organizations of the two countries in 1993.
Aksu will complete his visit to Bulgaria on Monday and leave for Istanbul at 10.30 local time.
