ISTANBUL - Igor Luksic, Deputy Foreign Minister of Serbia-Montenegro, said on Thursday that concerted efforts should be exerted for regional security.
Speaking in the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Southeastern Europe held in Istanbul, Luksic said that contribution of Europe and NATO were very important for settlement of security and peace in the region.
Luksic noted that ''increase of cooperation was very important to reduce the tension in the region.''
Stating that the most important problem in the region was terrorism, Luksic said that Serbia-Montenegro believed in importance of fight against terrorism and organized crime and took steps in that direction.
Luksic pointed out that European Union (EU) Thessaloniki Summit created a perspective for rapprochement of Balkan countries to the EU.
Serbia-Montenegro was ready to active role for regional stability, Luksic said and added that they had to exert concerted efforts for regional security.
