STRASBOURG - Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (COEPA) will debate and put to vote two reports about the Cyprus question on Tuesday.
COEPA Turkish Delegation Chairman Murat Mercan requested postponement of debates on the reports by noting that recent developments in Cyprus were not taken into consideration in the reports.
Speaking at the COEPA general assembly session, Mercan said that debates on the reports would not help efforts to solve the Cyprus question.
During the vote at the general assembly session, necessary majority could not be reached to postpone the debates.
The reports were prepared by Dick Marty of Switzerland and Jaakkso Laakso of Finland.
