North Korean Ship Which Runs Aground In Gelibolu Rescued

GELIBOLU - North Korean-flagged cargo ship ''Lila-S'', which ran aground in Cankaya region in Gelibolu town of northwestern province of Canakkale on June 7, was rescued on Monday.
Officials told A.A. correspondent that 2,288 gross ton Lila-S, which was carrying wheat from Giresun port in Black Sea to Egypt, adrift while entering Canakkale Strait after passing the Istanbul Strait and ran aground in Cankaya region.
Tugboat ''Alemdar-2'', which was sent to area following the help request of captain, unloaded a part of cargo of the ship and the ship was floated again.
Officials said that the ship anchored off Gelibolu Port and it would be allowed to continue its way after procedures were completed.
