CEYHAN - The first part of Iraqi oil purchased by the Turkish Oil Refineries Corp (Tupras) from the Ceyhan-Yumurtalik facilities of the Pipeline Transportation Corp (Botas) was loaded into a Turkish-flagged tanker on Sunday.
A ceremony was held at Botas's Ceyhan-Yumurtalik facilities to mark the resumption of flow of Iraqi oil to Turkey after the Iraq war.
At the ceremony, Iraqi Oil Marketing Company SOMO's Director General Mohammed Al-Jibury opened the valve through a computerized system, and the pumping of oil resumed.
Iraqi Oil Ministry Executive Committee Chairman James Caroll, his aide Fadhel Ali Othman, several Iraqi officials, Botas Director General Mehmet Bilgic, Tupras Director General Husamettin Danis and other officials attended the ceremony.
