Schwab: We Are Planning To Hold A Summit Similar To Davos In Turkey In Coming Years

AMMAN - World Economic Forum (WEF) fourder and President Klaus Schwab said on Saturday that they were planning to hold a summit like Davos meetings in Turkey in coming years.
Speaking to the A.A correspondent prior to the WEF's extraordinary annual meeting that will start in Dead Sea near Amman the same day, Schwab stressed that Turkey was one of the most influential and distinguished countries in the reigon.
Noting that Turkey was a very important country in terms of Middle East, and it had sound relations with the countries in the region, Schwab said that as a result of these, they targeted to hold a summit like Davos meetings in Turkey.
Stressing that Turkey had an important place during the three-day annual meeting, Schwab said that the meeting was important in terms of economic and political future of the region.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, State Minister Ali Babacan and a number of Turkish businessmen will attend the meeting.
King Abdullah II of Jordan, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, EU Term President Greece's Foreign Minister George Papandreou, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, NATO Secretary General George Robertson, former U.S. President Bill Clinton will also participate in the meeting.
