ANKARA - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu will go to the United States on Thursday as the official guest of U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman.
A statement of the Ministry said on Wednesday that Guclu would hold meetings to further develop cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture during his visit which would continue till June 28.
Guclu will hold a bilateral meeting with Veneman. In the meeting, the two ministers will take up issues like improvement of technical and scientific cooperation in the field of agriculture, investment of U.S. private companies in Turkey, improvement of trade of agricultural products, joint investments of Turkish and U.S. private companies in third countries, and joint projects in Afghanistan.
Agriculture Minister Guclu will attend Ministerial Conference and Expo on Agricultural Science and Technology organized by U.S. Department of Agriculture in Sacramento between June 23 and 25.
Guclu, who will visit some institutions under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and visit agricultural centers, will join a working meal organized by Turkish-U.S. Business Council.
