Budgetary Figures As Of End Of May

ANKARA - The consolidated budget deficit was 21 quadrillion 807 trillion 405 billion Turkish liras (TL) in first five months of 2003.
According to the Finance Ministry's Public Accounts Bulletin, total budget expenditures in the January-May period was 58 quadrillion 865 trillion 632 billion TL including 11 quadrillion 951.3 trillion TL of personnel, 1 quadrillion 387.5 trillion TL of other current, 864.3 trillion TL of investment expenditures and 44 quadrillion 662.5 trillion TL transfer expenditures.
Those transfer expenditures included 31 quadrillion 155.9 trillion TL of interest payments.
As of and of May, 2 quadrillion 634 trillion TL was transferred to the Pension Fund, 2 quadrillion 360.9 trillion TL was transferred to the Social Security Authority (SSK), 1 quadrillion 937.7 trillion TL was transferred to the Social Security Agency for Self-Employed (Bag-Kur), and 112.8 trillion TL was transferred to the Unemployment Insurance Fund. Thus total source allocated to social security organizations from the budget increased over to 7 quadrillion 45.4 trillion TL.
A total of 1 quadrillion 142.1 trillion TL was paid for agricultural support while total transfers to State Economic Enterprises (SEEs) reached 362.1 trillion TL.
Meanwhile, total budget revenues in first five months of the year was 37 quadrillion 58 trillion 227 billion TL including 30 quadrillion 747 trillion 895 billion TL of tax incomes.
Total non-tax normal incomes was 3 quadrillion 86.1 trillion TL, total special incomes and funds was 2 quadrillion 209.3 trillion TL, and total added budget incomes was 1 quadrillion 14.9 trillion TL.
Meanwhile, people paid 298.2 trillion TL in tax increase and fine, 96.7 trillion TL in fine and 41.2 trillion in traffic fine.
Thus as of end of May, the total non-interest expenditures from the budget reached 27 quadrillion 709.7 trillion TL, and non-interest surplus was 9 quadrillion 348 trillion 526 billion TL.
