National Defense Minister Gonul In Paris

PARIS - National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul on Monday visited Turkish stands in International Aviation and Space Fair held in Paris.
TAI, TEI, Petlas, Kalekalip, and Alp Aviation groups from Turkey participate in the fair.
Turkey will purchase from French Thales company equipment of navy planes.
Within the scope of Meltem 2 project signed between Turkey and France, Turkey will purchase the item from France for one year and after that it will produce it.
Turkey, within the framework of agreements between the two countries on joint production, gave the selling license to this equipment which it would produce.
With this agreement, Turkey for the first time gave selling license to a foreign company.
National Defense Minister Gonul will meet with French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie today.
Cooperation between the two countries in defense industry will also be taken up at the meeting.
Gonul on Tuesday will visit stands of EADS, DASSAULT, MBDA, Skorski, ELBIT, BAE, NORTHOP and GRUPMAN.
Gonul is expected to return to Turkey on Wednesday.
